Unpacked

  1. Fosters: We promote, encourage, and cultivate growth and development from a young age in a comprehensive system; akin to the natural progression of a school system from kindergarten to high school.
  2. Vibrant: We aim to be leaders and standouts in our region while building an active, energetic, and thriving environment. We want our community to be actively interested and engaged in STEAM.
  3. STEAM ecosystem: A network of interconnected individuals, organizations, programs, and resources that work together to promote STEAM education and innovation. In our case, it includes Woodinville High School, where our organization is based, Northshore School District and its elementary, middle, and other high schools, public libraries in our community, and local universities.
  4. For students: Our primary audience is K-12 students in the Northshore-Bothell-Woodinville area.
  5. Sharing knowledge: Disseminating information, discoveries, expertise, and best practices about robotics and STEAM is crucial to building a strong ecosystem. This involves sharing knowledge through mentorship, workshops, presentations, and online resources.
  6. Building partnerships: Collaborating with other teams and organizations, schools, businesses, and community leaders is essential to creating a robust and all-inclusive STEAM ecosystem. Partnerships can lead to shared resources, mentorship opportunities, and joint projects.
  7. Inspiring future innovators: Motivating and encouraging students to become creative problem-solvers and leaders in STEAM fields is our goal. By showcasing the excitement and impact of robotics, Woodinville Robotics aims to ignite a passion for STEAM for young people.
  8. Robotics: At its core, our organization’s main program is the FIRST Robotics Competition. Robotics serves as a powerful tool for engaging students in STEAM learning. It provides hands-on experiences, develops critical thinking skills, and fosters teamwork and collaboration.
